Though my wife would shoot me with information technology if I brought it home, I am looking at a Remington r15. Whatever reviews? The only hang upwardly I have seen with information technology is the trigger but I am guessing that is a standard consequence with the platform. I am a princess about triggers, so it might be a deal breaker.

Likewise, what is a good price on one?

The trigger that comes in most ar's sucks unless there is a choice to upgrade.

I take one in .204, 22 in. Barrel. I couldn't be happier with it. I'm sure there are amend AR'due south, but mine is very accurate and does everything I desire it to. I am going to modify the trigger, though. It's not terrible, merely not the best.

I built my own, a buddy new to the game bought a 18" barreled R15 VTR (IIRC) and had me set it upwards for him, mount scope sight information technology in etc. As a full general rule I make clean every new gun within and out to remove whatsoever factory packing oils etc that may gum upward the activeness or trigger assembly. I noticed in this procedure that the fire control grouping in the R15 seemed pretty... well for lack of a better word "chincy". It was all metal, simply it was nowhere near as robust as my milspec build. I am not i of those guys that everything HAS to exist milspec and all that simply I trust steel barstock over tubing anyday. That said, the burglarize shot corking and had a amend trigger pull than mine. Seem to be groovy rifles, and realistically you'll never probably need the beefier parts of a milspec AR unless you get the permits for full auto burn down or get dumped into the sandbox. If the R15 is exactly what you desire, go for information technology because it is a prissy rifle. If you find yourself thinking yous might want a couple things inverse, build your own. One thing to think about if you lot're OCD like me is that it will be nigh impossible to match that camo if you desire to switch stocks, grips, or forearms. If you're a tinkerer, build information technology. If y'all just want an off the shelf rifle that works, the R15 is for you.

I bought a used R-15 off of this site last yr for a buddy of mine. It was a solid shooter in manufactory form simply it became a dandy shooter when I installed a Stone River 2-stage lucifer trigger in it. Fabricated all the difference. The R-15 is a solid pick. If you lot like it dont hesitate. You could do much worse.

Thanks for the comebacks. I would probably want to change the trigger then as I am used to my 2.five pound no creep rifle triggers.

Now to just convince the wife....she does non like the idea of the ar platform. She is Canadian and they don't get it upwardly there. She ok'd a browning bar merely they are definitely more expensive and the i I want is hard to come by. And not about as cool looking.

As some have already stated simply change the trigger out for a amend one and you lot will be good to go. In that location are a lot of aftermarket triggers out in that location. ARGold, Timney, JP, RRA , Merely a few of the many options. I put jp springs into my RRA trigger to get to the 2,5lbs pull just it is still a two phase trigger.

I was going to inquire about accuracy. I am looking at the smaller lighter one, tin't think the model. I remember they chosen it carbine. That will affect accuracy with a short butt.

My current .223 is a tack driver. Hoping to get something that volition print reasonable groups. I am looking for it for close combat in the woods anyways, so I gues it isn't that of import.

What kind of groups are you getting with a stock gun and trigger?

The accuracy is plenty good for coyote hunting. The merely real upgrade I tin meet right away would exist the trigger. You can shoot the manufacturing plant one as it is not equally bad as some, but you will want to eventually upgrade information technology.

They are pretty salty. You are buying the proper name and camo. You can do it cheaper with quite a few different manufacturers. They are a good gun, but im a cheap skate, and its fun to build your ain.
